This is an open-book selected-response quiz, designed to assess higher-level thinking skills of the students after they have read the short story "A Good Man Is Hard to Find" by Flannery O'Connor. The quiz would be used in an English/Language Arts (American literature) class, and it calls on the students to determine irony, character motivation, symbolism, foreshadowing, and theme. It includes an answer key.

The worksheet is designed to spur a discussion about the how the novel is relevant to the ways many people behave in our current society. It can also be used as an open-book assessment of higher level thinking skills.
