Tape diagrams are an excellent visual model for understanding ratio. In this activity, students will drag tape diagram cards on to the work area, to represent the ratio given in the problem. There are text boxes on the cards so students can then type in the number each card is representing. Finally, students type their final answer in the text box.
Bar models are an excellent visual model for understanding percents. In this activity, students will shade in a percent bar to represent the given percent. Then, students will complete the number line based on what the whole is worth. Finally, students will solve the percent problem.
