This product contains a complete lesson on Euler's Method. This is used by calculus students to estimate the value of a function at a point given the function's differential equation and another point on the function. This is an alternative method to finding the specific solution of a differential equation and works well when the differential equation is not in a form that can be solved. This packet includes: - 2 worksheets to assign prior to the lesson, reviewing differential equations and s

About the store

Experience

I have worked as a private math tutor since 2006. My educational background is in math, and I have worked with students from 6th grade through college to help them gain an understanding- and sometimes even a love- for my field!

Teaching style

I believe in building an appreciation for mathematics, not only for what it can do for us, but because it has an intrinsic beauty. I specialize in the path to Calculus, meaning Algebra, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and then Calculus itself. It is truly a beautiful field, full of internal patterns and fascinating applications. I also work with students working towards their college goals. I help students in preparing for SAT and ACT tests, as well as tests to meet graduation requirements and college placement exams.

My own education history

I studied for two years at Dominican University of California in the Bay Area. I finished my education at the University of Oregon, with a degree in Mathematics and a Secondary Education emphasis.

Additional biographical information

When I am not teaching math or writing math curriculum (which is infrequent), I enjoy spending time with my husband and our cat, working in my garden, and enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. How many people can say they live an hour from the beach, the mountains, hiking trails, waterfalls, and a large city full of art and eccentricity? I am very lucky!
