Introduction to Cross Multiplication
This lesson has contains guided notes and an answer key for a lesson on cross multiplication. Students will first do a real life baking problem involving proportions. They will then be asked to compare their answer with the original problem and make a conjecture about a shortcut. Students will then be guided in proving that cross multiplication always works. Finally, students will solve a problem with and without cross multiplication, to convince them that both methods work, but cross-multip

I like to involve my students in the learning process as much as possible. I believe that students learn math by doing it. However, I also believe that students need modeling, scaffolding, and guidance throughout the learning process. I often guide my students by giving them specific questions. I also love to create analogies for my students and relate material to real life.
