Addition Strategies
Fluency is a consistent thread throughout the Common Core Standards. In order for students to be successful in future mathematics, they must have fluent computation skills. Success with computation is dependent upon fluency with basic facts.
These activities provide students with basic addition facts practice in a variety of ways, using the same set of cards. The cards are grouped to be used sequentially in a way recommended for teaching basic addition facts:
