This activity challenges students to quickly make tables given a unique equation. As they race against their peers, a discovery is made - there is a pattern! Help your students practice making tables, or aide them in exploring the ideas behind rate of change. This fun race was a hit in my 7th grade classroom! This activity includes 4 different table templates, 40 different equation cards, instructions, and ideas for differentiation.

About the store

Experience

I am currently serving as the Math Instructional Coach at my middle school in Texas. I recently obtained my masters in Math Curriculum and Instruction, and have been teaching grades 6 - Algebra 1 for 8 years. One of my favorite parts of teaching is developing curriculum that is viable, applicable, and engaging!

Teaching style

Organized chaos... I love when learners are free to discover something on their own rather than receiving it through direct instruction. While direct instruction is sometimes unavoidable in Math, it is WAY easier and MUCH more engaging when the kids have already explored part of it on their own! Learners then have a context and a lens to look through that would not have existed had they not done some exploration on their own.
