A hands on activity designed for middle school students to graph weather for a specific region for a month. Discussion questions are developed to help students begin to understand the difference between weather and climate.
In my room, we have "expert badges." Students get to be an "expert" and help others if they're finished and fully understand the activity. It allows for the "ask 3 then me" principle to be used. Just print, laminate, and put on lanyards! I originally had mine on a mix-matched set of lanyards I had collected over the years from different workshops, but Staples sells a pack of 5 and now mine all match!
A lab designed for middle school students learning about the effects of ocean temperature on weather and climate. This lab was created to be done in a 40 minute class period. Includes two response questions! Document is editable if you need to make changes for your specific class.
A rubric I use for each essay my students write in science class. Designed to be used regardless of the content being taught. This is an editable document.
20 radical problems for students to solve. Included are a sheet for students to put their answers and work sheets for students to show all work. I use this as a project but could easily be spread out over several days to be homework or practice.
One of my favorite foldables! I use this before every unit! Students write what they already know about the subject (K), what they want to know (W), and what the learned (L) after the unit! Great formative assessment as well.
A foldable to use with students on ways to document and show results! Great part of my Scientific Method unit! Can be used in multiple grades. Foldable has a matching component.
