Experience

Most recently, I have taught 6th grade standard and co-teaching math for 8 years in the state of Tennessee. I have a total of 17 years teaching experience from preschool age all the way to 6th grade.

Teaching style

I believe in student choice and motivation. Students learn best when they have options and goals. In addition, I believe in immediate feedback allowing both the teacher and student to adjust and monitor teaching and learning throughout the entire lesson.

My own education history

I graduated with honors from the University of Memphis. I currently teach at the middle school I attended as a child.

Additional biographical information

I have worked with children since the age of 15, and I am an advocate of public education. I reside in Bartlet, TN with my wonderful and supportive husband as well as my two strong-willed daughters.
