This editable end of the day routine has been a life saver for me! It's designed as a flow map to support kids who need a structured "first, then, last" routine to follow. There are two more additional resources which include the "closing circle" link which takes you to a "spin the wheel" game of closing circle questions to end the day on a positive note. On the last slide, there is a class jobs page where you can input class numbers into the correct job so that they can reference it. There are

Experience

I have been teaching for 7 years now! The majority of my experience is in 4th grade which I loved! After 6 years in 4th, I moved on to teach 5th grade at the same school. I have always taught at a Title 1 school with the majority of my students being bilingual and a large population of students with special needs.

Teaching style

I teach using a lot of technology including slideshows for students to reference. My students are on technology part of the time but I really believe in trying to implement paper/pencil experiences as well to keep them grounded, especially in literacy. Reading an actual book is a priceless skill. I believe in creating strong relationships with students as well in setting strong boundaries. I also believe in teaching SEL skills throughout the year and incorporating these into various parts of the day. I am constantly striving to continue learning myself in order to best support my students and create experiences for them that are rooted in research and best practices.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Teacher of the year at my school in 2020.

My own education history

I have an Undergraduate Degree in both History and Elementary Education from Metropolitan State University in Denver. After teaching for a year, I went to Colorado University in Boulder for my Masters in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity.
