Every February, people in the United States celebrate the achievements and history of African Americans as part of Black History Month. During this DAPE workout, we will learn about Black Athletes Who Changed the World! For each athlete we will use a small ball or sock ball to practice sports movements for the sport each athlete played. For every slide, there is a GIF visual for both standing and sitting as well as words that correlate with the athlete and movement.
This is a gross motor activity that focuses on body awareness. Students will need a beanbag and will manipulate it in different ways for each letter of the alphabet. Each slide includes a visual gif example and description as well as the sign language for each letter.
