I am a High School Language Arts/Media teacher in Northwestern, Pennsylvania. I also am a certified K-12 Principal and hold an MA in Educational Leadership, a BA in Corporate Communications, and an Associates in Media Production. Behind the scenes, I am a loving husband, father of four daughters, video game player and collector, tech nut, Earth explorer, avid reader, library dweller, and high school varsity track coach. Word Artist - A Creative Way to Start your English Class!
This is a very easy to use English class opener. Students must attempt to write a single sentence using all the criteria. For instance, I have set the sheet to Figurative Language (Simile), Syntax (Compound Sentence), Parts of Speech (3 Adjectives), and Vocabulary (the word ‘menacing’). Now, students have to rack their brains and write a single sentence that meets all the criteria using the image as inspiration.
