In this project, students crosscut the subjects of Language Arts, Science, and Art as they write and illustrate their own story of how they discovered the center of the Earth.
This can be completed as a research project or after a unit on inside Earth. I have completed it in my science class and even though there is only a 1 page minimum, 6th graders have wrote 3 to 4 pages filled with descriptions of what they see and do.

Description This activity contains 4 colored copies of percent fraction decimal cards to create a little fun in the math classroom. I have had students complete this in stations, or with partners as a whole class. There is some teacher prep-work, but after completed one time, the cards can be used year after year. Teacher Prep Work: Photocopy or print cards onto card stock and cut apart. If making more than one set, I like to make each set on different colored paper so a missing card can easily
In this lesson, the digestive system is introduced when students come up with actions to represent each organ of the digestive system and its job. The actions are then performed one at a time while the significance of each organ is recited. As students learn each new organ, the chant becomes longer. Use as a station activity or as an assignment. Equations are given in Standard Form. Cut the first page into thirds and give each student a strip with the 5 equations. Graph each equation by finding x and y intercepts or converting the standard form equation into point slope form. Graph the equations on one large graph to see the star shape. Teaching style
I will try just about any method to keep my students engaged and excited to learn. If they leave my classroom with more awareness of the world around them and the ability to think for themselves, I have been successful.
