This activity requires students to use knowledge of Percent of a Number, Sales Tax, and Discount. They get to be creative and practice GIVING, which we know is difficult for middle schoolers. :) They will be practicing real world problem solving all while having fun!

This project is a fun way for students to show what they know about Tessellations. It incorporates geometry along with reading and writing skills.

This is a project that I designed for the very end of the year during end of grade testing. It is a combination of several different topics discussed during the year. From percents, to conversions, to scale drawings, this project is very detailed. It should possibly take from 1 to 2 weeks to complete IN CLASS.

PLEASE RATE!!! :) In this project, students are able to have some fun before the Thanksgiving Holiday. They get to create their own recipes including the most disgusting ingredients imaginable! You will need to cover fractions, decimals, and percents for this project.

This project focuses on students gathering information from their peers and adults to create a presentation using various types of graphs.

In this activity, students will measure their arm, leg, head, and torso lengths. They will then create a scale drawing of themselves!

In this activity, students work with groups of 3-4 on Ratios and Unit Rate Word Problems (Common Core Based). They are to work together to PROVE the given answer choices are CORRECT or INCORRECT. They are given a certain number of points for using their resources (notes, book, classmates) and NOT asking the teacher, for having topic related discussion, being actively engaged, and having the correct proof. This is an opportunity for students to learn that math is not just numbers in a classroom. They will also learn that inventions that we use today came from people from different ethnic backgrounds. Students also get the opportunity to reflect and communicate what they learned and what they will take from the activity.
