This powerpoint explains 4 topics of Social Studies: History, Geography, Economy, and Politics. Each topic has a memorable and hands-on activity that your class can do together to make Social Studies exciting. Use these activities at the beginning of the year to inspire students and build anticipation or use them throughout the year to challenge your students to enhance their understanding.

This is a 35 page pptx that includes Expecations, Warm up quiz, Artifact Guessing Activity with answers, Reserach Activity and an Exit Ticket question. This powerpoint includes 10 photos of prehistoric Utah artifacts with descriptions of each artifact. It also inclides links to websites students can use for their research project on 3 prehistoric Utah time periods: Archaic, Ancestral Pueblo, and Fremont Period.

This packet goes along with my Utah Prehistoric Period Powerpoint. If you purchase the powerpoint, I highly recommend getting the packet as well so students have a place to oragnize their notes for the activities in the pptx. The packet also includes the objective, expectations, and vocab words.
