This short project is a fun way to get to know students at the beginning of a term. Students create a timeline, that integrates events in their personal history and events in US history and provide a short explanation and image for each one. US historical events can be chosen by students or provided by teachers. This project can be adapted for other history classes. A rubric is provided.
This product includes a short Timeliness Plan, requiring students to quickly reflect on why they were tardy, what they missed and how to prevent tardiness in the future. The plan is followed by a longer reflection and one page article about the impact of being tardy. This is designed to give students some language and ideas to use when reflecting on tardiness without requiring extensive adult support. The reflections can be used together as part of a process, or separately.
This organizer can be used as a reflection when student behavior is not meeting classroom expectations. The organizer provides spaces to define the expectation, explain why it is important and provide examples of what successful behavior looks and sounds like. An example is provided using the expectation "following directions."
