This is a fact file template that I used for my Year 1 middle ability groups. They could choose two facts and draw a picture about rockets.

This is a fact file template for my Year 1 high ability groups. They could choose three facts about rockets and draw a picture. It may not seem much, but they needed to write subheadings for the file using fact file features they had learned during English lesson and write facts they had learned about rockets and space during Science lesson.

This is a fact file template that I made for my Year 1 low ability group. It is fun, simple and it has been a success. They can either write small sentences or bullet points if they like. I have used it more as labelling because we studied fact files as part of Man on the Moon book and they have learned during science lesson about rockets and space so I combined English with Science on this one.

Teaching style
My teaching style would be a hybrid one as I love to make students feel in control of their learning because it has been proved in my classroom that they learn better this way so I would delegate tasks to some of my students, I would discuss with them all the tasks and help them figure out by themselves what is that they need to do and what rules to follow and I would encourage them to always ask questions.

BA in Modern Foreign languages: English and German
