Unit on the Earth's atmosphere focusing on Conduction, Convection and Radiation. Students define the terms in a foyer box (examples and pictures). The next part is a description of the way those 3 types of energy heat the earth's atmosphere. The independent practice is to sort out 10 different "activities" to decide whether they are are conduction, convection, or radiation. There is a multiple choice exit slip - great for data. Answer key provided at the end.
Students practice labeling different animals using their newly learned vocabulary (must understand producer and consumer definitions). They write in the box whether each animal would be labeled as an herbivore, omnivore, carnivore or decomposer. Great activity for independent or guided practice in a Unit that discusses organism feeding types.
These are 10 Do Now - or Warm Up Activities- For an Earth science class. This is for students who are just entering the classroom to have about 5 minutes to complete in order to refresh their memory of a newly learned topic. Do NOW activities cover topics such as a geosphere review, hydrosphere, global warming, 3 ways to transfer energy in the atmosphere. These can be used as a transparancy in front of the class or individual worksheets for the students. Can be modified for older or younger stud
This is a great guided notes document to talk about the interior of the earth. It makes for a great transparency so as you are talking about the geosphere students can take quick, simple notes. A good graphic organizer to help students have a visual of the actual layers on the inside of the earth. Comes with an easy to read answer key. Great for any earth science class.
