This worksheet guides students through a simple activity to practice using litmus indicator to identify liquids as acidic or basic (alkaline). It begins with an introduction to pH (including a pH scale) and indicators, and then guides students to test common household liquids using red and blue litmus paper.
If desired, the activity can be modified to test other indicators.
Through completion of the activity, students will demonstrate their ability to identify liquids as acid or alkali usi
I created this poem to help my middle school students learn the chemical equation for photosynthesis. Students love to chant or sing the poem and I found the strategy had a BIG impact on mastery of the concept.
This item includes one large poem for a bulletin board and another sheet of smaller poems to photocopy and distribute to students. (I had them glue the poem into their notebooks.)
I also expanded the strategy to include picture notes. Check them out in another posting...
