This is a great tool to build addition fluency in elementary students! My students practice using the flash cards through out the week (with a partner), then see how quickly they remember their addition facts. Once they have timed themselves, or a partner has timed them, I will set a timer for 1 minute to see how many facts they can solve! To differentiate this activity, students can answer the addition problems horizontally or vertically!

Soup, Salad, or Sandwich is a wonderful tool to use for the first week of school jitters. This tool is perfect to build a classroom community without the stress of revealing too much personal information that the students might not be ready for. Get you students talking, laughing, and having fun!
