Radical Function Murder Mystery Activity

Originally designed for 19 students, one student has been "radically" murdered and another student did the dastardly deed! Students use their knowledge of radical functions, transformations, and characteristics of functions (domain, range, x- and y-intercepts) to figure out just who murdered who!

Intercepts of Polynomial Functions Murder Mystery

Great hands-on, student-focused review activity for finding x- and y-intercepts of polynomial functions. All factoring is GCF, trinomials, difference of squares, and factor by grouping. Terrific for remediation! Designed for 13 students or 26 students--if 13, each student has both intercepts; if 26, each student has one or the other. If you like this one, try the Radical Functions Murder Mystery! It's my best seller!

Trigonometric Design Holiday Ornament Project

Give your creative students an outlet to show how much they have learned about graphing trigonometric functions! I brought in a cheap artificial tree and we decorated our "Trigmas" tree with their ornaments.

Characteristics of Polynomials Cubing Project

Allow your students to take ownership of their learning with this great cubing activity! Students use the sides of a tissue box to decorate to demonstrate their understanding of polynomial characteristics.

About the store

Experience

I have taught high school level mathematics for almost 21 years. I have taught both public school and private school (mostly public), remedial, on level, and gifted levels. I primarily focus on Geometry, Advanced Algebra, and Precalculus.

Teaching style

I consider myself pretty traditional (basic instruction with class participation) with lots of creative fun activities included. I hate boring worksheets, hence the activities I've added to my store here!

Awards & shining teacher moments

2003 Teacher of the Year (local school award)

My own education history

I have a master's degree as well as a bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education from North Georgia College.
