This is a personal reading reflection template that incorporates all reading strategies, as well as critical thinking. The template can be modified for different grades, but is ideal for middle school. This can be incorporated into your independent reading program or as a Literacy Centre

This file contains a game card and instruction sheet for a game called "BOLF" which combines the skills of basketball and the scoring concepts of Golf. The students use basketbell nets, either in the gym or outside and track the number of shots they take. Each basketball net has a different "par", so the students must calculate their score in relation to the par for that basket.

This a great graphic organizer that helps students to organize their ideas and supporting detail before they begin writing their paragraphs.

This is a revision checklist that can be used for a variety of writing forms, but was originally designed for a personal narrative. The checklist allows the students to reflect on idea development, organization, voice, conventions, etc. It can be used as either a self-evaluation or peer-evaluation.
