Grids are provided to assist students with organizing their work and properly lining up digits/place values.
Additional vocabulary (e.g. addend, sum, minuend, subtrahend, difference, factor, product, etc.) are included for review/extension.

Supporting 6.RP.1 - Writing Ratios Students roll a six-sided die in order to select one of the three questions on each card. There are 9 cards, each with three questions (totaling 27 questions). Cards can be double sided (with answers on the back) for a self-checking activity. Alternately, the task can be single-sided and used as a formative performance task or quiz. This can also make an exceptional collaborative activity or station activity. Students often "check out" this activity from my
This activity reviews decimal subtraction using the standard algorithm. Students will use algebraic thinking to fill in missing digits in the minuend, the subtrahend or the difference. The digits provided fit the blank spaces exactly, which allows students to self-check or correct their work. Digits for the front and back are printed separately to allow for activity chunking. A pencil may be used instead of gluing digits.
This activity models decimal multiplication using a hundredths grid. Students will solve for the missing factor or product, or, will write and solve an equation based on the pictured model. There are 24 cards, 2 blank models, an answer sheet and answer key provided.
