Will it be harder or easier to get to Mars than it was to get to the moon? In many ways, the answer to both questions is yes. We have better technology now, but the moon stays near us while Mars does not. It's a very different mission. In this video, I walk students through what it would take for us to get to Mars.

When teaching this unit, I focused on the Apollo era and then talked about the future. But NASA was busy between the time they landed on the moon and now, so I gave my students this video to watch as a bridge between the two focus points I was using during class.
