This document is a detailed checklist to help your students through the editing process when editing a piece of narrative writing. I have also provided descriptions of common student errors along with the checklist. It is a printable and editable Microsoft Word download.

This product is to be used for struggling writers who have already read "The Open Window." After reading, students examine a writing prompt and three samples of writing. Students make suggestions to the writer. I recommend having them think, pair, share with this activity. The activity is a Word Doc but could easily be formatted into a Google Doc. It could also be printed if needed.

This product contains ten quotes from Taylor Swift song lyrics containing allusions. Students must first interpret where the allusion came from, and then they explain what the allusion means within the context of the song. I have included an answer key for your convenience. This activity is set up in a Word Doc. It can easily be uploaded to Google Drive, saved as a doc, and placed into Google Classroom.
