This set of task cards includes practice reading various pieces of scientific equipment including triple beam balances, graduated cylinders, thermometers, rulers, and spring scales. It also includes questions about various pieces of equipment commonly used in class. A student record sheet and key are included. Also included is an editable template of the task cards so you can add cards or replace existing cards. An editable version of the key and record sheet are also included.

This activity is a great way to formatively assess student understanding of the difference between physical and chemical properties and physical and chemical changes.
