This activity is designed to reinforce the concept of pure substances using models of elements, compounds, and mixtures. Students sort 20 cards on three different sorting boards. On Sorting Board 1, cards are sorted into the categories of "Pure" or "Not Pure". On Sorting Board 2, cards are sorted into the categories "Element", "Compound", or "Mixture".
