Bathroom Chart

This is a great pdf that I created to help with bathroom and toilet training documentation in my self-contained classroom for students with special needs. This can be used with any age student (I personally have used this with kindergarten through high school aged-- older students typically are in adult briefs at that point) This pdf is very simple to use-- there is space for 4 students per page. Each student has a small table for the week (M-F), with room for 4 separate toilet trackings. Each

Editable Daily Communication Form

NEWLY UPDATED January 2024! Now editable. Resource contains both an editable PowerPoint format as well as PDF. Tweak and edit to fit the specific needs of your classroom or program. As a self-contained Special Education Teacher, I searched long and hard to find a form that I could communicate my students' daily needs/accomplishments/concerns with their parents and families. I decided to create my own form that I could include academic tasks that were worked on that day, as well as any notes

A Unit for Telling Time to the Hour

This is a unit I created for introducing the concept of telling time to the hour for my special needs students. This unit is geared towards students with cognitive impairments with little knowledge of telling time or using analog clocks. This is a great introduction to the concept of time, and makes for a great stepping stone to further time concepts (half hour, quarter til/after, time to the minute, etc). This can be supplemented with other printables/activities as well.

Parent Input Form for IEP Meeting

After searching and searching for a printable Parent Input form for IEP meetings that was relevent for my self-contained Special Education students, I finally decided to create my own. This form is a great tool to send home to parents to help gather their input and opinions regarding their child's upcoming draft IEP. It's also a great form of documentation to show that you are seeking their input.

Daily Notes to Parents- Smiley Faces

This is a great way to communicate to your parents how their child performed in school that day. You can customize the left column to fit with your daily schedule. I find that it helps to have my students take part in monitoring their behavior (I'll ask, "Did your behavior earn you a happy face or sad face?"). This is a great resource for children with special needs to have them become aware of their behavior. Parents have also used this as an incentive program at home. For example, if they

File Folder- Uppercase Letter Match

This product is designed to help early learners or those working on letter awareness practice matching skills with uppercase letters. I use this product daily as a file folder task in my self-contained classroom for students with Autism. It works perfectly as a learning activity at a student's independent work station. It would also work great during small group instruction. Thank you for visiting my store! Terms of Use: Copyright © Jessica Walsh. All rights reserved by author. This prod

Beginning of the Year form-- Student Information

This is a fabulous document to send home to parents either before school or on Meet the Teacher night! Includes all the pertinent contact information, as well as insights as to the child's likes, dislikes, attitude towards school, etc. I have used this form for years and absolutely love it! The form is formated for the 2013-2014 school year.

Upper/Lowercase Letter Match Cards

This is a great activity for an independent center. I use these cards multiple times a week for my students who are still struggling with letter identification. Once you introduce this activity to students, it can be used during reading centers or other independent work time throughout the day. Great for Special Education students or other struggling readers!

Dolch Pre-Primer Words Read/Trace/Write

This is a great supplemental activity for students to practice not only reading their Dolch Pre-Primer sight words, but learning appropriate spelling of the words as well. This is also a good activity to use with younger students who struggle with fine motor control and handwriting.

Meeting Notes Printable

This is a great printable to print in bulk at the beginning of the school year. It has separate categories to record deadlines, things to remember, and things to follow up on. Stick them in a 3-ring binder and you'll be good to go :)
Preview of Think Time Reflection

Think Time Reflection

This is a great printable to use with younger children to help them reflect on inappropriate behavior and how it impacts people around them. There is an area for children to draw a picture of the incident, then describe the situation to an adult. If you would like parents to review the reflection, you can check the box at the bottom and request a parent signature. I have used this in my classroom for years and it is a great tool.
