Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in play-based learning and I love finding different ways to build skills and foster meaningful connections. I believe in meeting learners exactly where they are and viewing the world through their eyes to better understand their needs and interests. I’m passionate about creating resources that support learning through evidence-based ABA practices, blending structure and creativity to make learning both effective and fun. I strive to make learning experiences meaningful and enjoyable, using hands-on activities and real-world connections to build skills, strengthen relationships, and inspire curiosity.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Behavior Analysis, which provided me with a strong foundation in learning theory, behavior assessment, and evidence-based interventions. In addition, I am a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), giving me the opportunity to apply ABA strategies in real-world settings and support meaningful skill development for a diverse range of learners. I also earned my Child Development Associate (CDA) certification, deepening my knowledge of early childhood education and development.

Additional biographical information

Hi, I’m Julie — the creator behind Rainbow Minds! My journey in education started with a love for helping little learners discover the world around them. I’ve been lucky to work with children for over five years, including two years as the lead teacher in my own Pre-K classroom. During that time, I helped preschoolers build early academic, social, and emotional skills while finding the best approaches to meet each child’s unique needs. These experiences have shaped my ability to make learning engaging, individualized, and full of connection. I’m now furthering my career in the world of ABA and have first-hand experience working with a diverse group of children who teach me new things every single day. My work allows me to blend the science of behavior analysis with the creativity of play-based learning — because I believe that learning should be both effective and joyful. Creating resources for teachers, therapists, and parents is my way of sharing the tools, ideas, and strategies that have made a difference in my own classroom and sessions. I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope my resources inspire curiosity, connection, and confidence in every learner you work with.
