Greg Smith is an experienced educator with a strong background in social studies instruction, curriculum development, and school administration. Currently a Social Studies Teacher at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, he teaches AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, and AP U.S. History, while also serving as Head JV Baseball Coach and an AP Macroeconomics reader. Smith’s educational background includes a B.A. in History from Mars Hill College, an M.Ed. from Francis Marion University, and ongoing Ed.M. studies in Education Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University. His professional expertise spans building school culture, advancing equity through culturally responsive pedagogy, and improving academic outcomes in diverse educational settings. Over his career, Smith has held multiple leadership roles, including Founding Middle School Assistant Principal at The PATH School, where he developed systems for strong culture and academics, and Assistant Principal positions at Emmerich Manual High School and Emma Donnan Elementary and Middle School, where he implemented restorative practices and led professional development that significantly improved school performance. His teaching career began in South Carolina, where he earned notable student achievement results and launched extracurricular programs. A committed community member, Smith volunteers with his church and is an Eagle Scout, underscoring his lifelong dedication to leadership, service, and student success.
