This is a fun interactive NOTEBOOK file introducing the concept of sharing/division. The activity is based on the book The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins. It consists of 7 screens. To start with there are 12 cookies to be shared between 2 children. Then 12 between 4, till finally 12 between 12 children.

Blocks on a bowl activity sheets can become eggs on a bowl. Start with 10 eggs on top and in groups of 2 or 3, children take turns hiding some eggs under the bowl while the others close their eyes. Children then count how many eggs are left on top and work out how many are hidden underneath. They draw the eggs left on top and the number underneath and write the Friends of 10 addition sentence.
