This is a lesson on The Stono Rebellion. The lesson was completed for an observation; 7th grade U.S. History class. I really enjoyed teaching the topic. Kobe Bryant was recently killed in a helicopter accident. Many of my students wanted to discuss the topic. NewsELA had an article on their website which I made a few changes and came up with the worksheet below. I also included Kobe Bryant's poem too. I hope this helps other educators be it for current events OR Black History Month.
