About the store
With a background in teaching Montessori, music and Spanish, I turned my sights on teaching my own kids Spanish; to bring them up speaking my Mexican Mother's language. My own child's language- delay taught me wonderful methods to encourage speech, and to make language learning fun, joyful, light.
I have worked developing materials for the classroom, and as a textbook editor, as well as creating learning materials for corporate training. But my true love has been helping families and teachers of young children bring Spanish to life in day-to-day exchanges.

Teaching style
SingALingo believes language is for communication, and we create activities with that in mind. Our activity plans use fun songs and chants with gestures to help kids enjoy the learning and to aid memory. We teach expressions that are useful, never lists of grouped vocabulary. We want kids to get the tools they need to speak meaningfully, so that Spanish becomes another way to express themselves.
Awards & shining teacher moments
Our Spanish songs CD En Mi Casa / In My House (also available separately in English & Chinese) has won multiple awards: National Parenting Center, Parenting Media, Parent's Choice.
Our En Mi Casa DVD (music videos and skits of many of the songs from the CD) won a NAPA honorable mention.

Additional biographical information
I'm excited to be using what I know about educating kids, plus all those years of piano lessons (thanks Mom!) to use doing something so fulfilling and fun. I'm also a proud Mom of two proficient Spanish-speaking kids, and a golden retroodle (he's only 1/4 poodle) who doesn't speak a lick of Spanish. I love tennis, clever solutions, and fast banter. I'm a really good sharer, and food never tastes as good if someone else isn't eating it, too!
