About the store
I have been a teacher for more than 10 years and have two children of my own (which has made me an even better teacher!). I especially love challenging GATE students and creating fun and exciting lessons that can really access higher learning. I have taught grades 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6th. I especially love teaching reading and writing since these were areas that challenged me most a child learner myself!

This is a great time filler! Included for each Pixar Short (collection 2) film are 3-4 writing prompts with 2 different lined paper options. Each writing prompt has a grade 2-3 spaced paper and grades 4th and up lined paper for responses. Also included at the end are ALL of the questions for you to distribute on your own without the lined paper or for discussion groups. I love doing these at the end of the year when kids are antsy and teachers are running low on fuel! There are 40 writing prom

I created this for my son's preschool class. I cut out each "bag" with a picture and word(s) on it and distributed it to each student. I put a brown shopping bag in the middle of the circle and when we read the story and got to their item, they got to put their card into the bag. They LOVED it and wanted to do it again. Simple and sweet and there are so many other things you can do with these cards for this story (like sorting food groups, etc).

I have changed my previous charts to be simple and more economically (and environmentally) friendly. These posters can be used with the Bridges® Math Number Corner for all grade levels for the Record Sheets portion. The posters all show which months/grades they can be used for at the bottom and the headings for each column can be written at the top. You can send this PDF to your local print shop and ask for it to be printed on Arch D paper (size 24 x 36). They can also be printed on regular pr

Students will find parts of 100 using printable large ovens- print on legal size paper and you can increase the size to 11x14 at your local print shop for large work-mats (I like to laminate them and use them multiple times), cookie trays and counters, and finish off with a partner worksheet. This is a fun way for students to find parts of 100 and even can have a little treat when they are finished by eating their counters. I found 4D printable ovens off of Etsy that I used for my lesson. Fun ice cream cone glyphs for the first week of school! Students will color 3 scoops, a cone, and either a cherry or strawberry (according to the legend). Students will then cut and glue in that order. I suggest having them glue the instruction legend to the back of their background paper (I use large black construction paper) and writing their names in white crayon on the front.

Remember those books we used to read years ago where the reader decides which path to take and turns pages according to what you chose? I wanted to bring it back! We are in the process of completing a teacher lesson plan template to guide their students' own creative writing process through trails but I wanted to introduce you to our first one since Thanksgiving is coming up! FUN! Kids get to cut out and paste Halloween cards onto their blank game boards. Larger sizes teacher cards are included. Cut them out and put them in a bag (or cauldron!). Pull one card out at a time and student place something on their game board. I like to use candy corn, M&Ms, or hershey's kisses! When they are done, they get to enjoy their treats. "Winners" in my class win either a homework pass or incentive money they can use at our monthly classroom store. Great for any age!

Cut out the cute colorful cameras, laminate them, and adhere a magnet and paperclip to them (some use clothespins). We like to stick them to a filing cabinet or magnetic whiteboard. When students are done with their work and are proud of it, they grab one and paperclip it to their work. Clothespins are bulkier when student work is stacked so we changed it to paperclips/magnets instead! Yours to enjoy- free!

Experience

Teaching style

I thrive on hands on fun activities for children. I love centers and have even had great experience teaching centers for upper elementary students. I feel like it is important to be current and relevant with students. If they need to be silly in their writing and it encourages them to write... so be it! Bring on the silliness (watching the appropriate factor too!).

My own education history

I graduated from the University of Oregon with my degree in Educational Studies. I also received my teaching credential and masters degree in Educational Leadership. I have continued my education since then taking workshops that help broaden my world as a teacher.
