Social Stories: Waiting

Created by

This is a great visual for students or children who have a hard time waiting for activities or for attention from others. The top of the page can be used as a visual reminder. The bottom of the page can be used as cards for a parent or adult to signal when they are busy/ready (available/not available) when practicing waiting with a student.

Teaching style

In my work, I use Applied Behavior Analysis. So all you BCBA's, behavior technicians, and paraprofessionals may find this store useful for resources. Just some of the teaching methods I use include: discrete trial instruction, natural teaching environment, incidental teaching, behavioral momentum, premack principle, etc. The main goal is to make materials that are engaging and interactive to increase the student's participation. So often, people think ABA and discrete trial is robotic and repetitive. But so much of what we do can be disguised with fun and social learning materials!
