Semantic Feature Analysis (SFA) is an evidence-based treatment used to address word finding difficulties. Based on spreading activation theory, Ylvisaker and Szekeres' (1985) SFA treatment guides an individual through producing semantically related words. This activates the semantic network surrounding a target word, and theoretically provides access to the target word in one's mental lexicon.
