After spending two years in the graphic arts field, Jason decided to pursue his true passion for teaching. After receiving his degree in Art Education, Jason spent several years as a substitute (daily and long-term) where he was able to gain valuable ideas for his classes. He currently has been teaching at a local charter school for the past 13 years.

Teaching style

Jason's classes are engaging, fun and sometimes unpredictable. He wants the students to learn various art making processes while expressing themselves. With the ultimate goal of enjoy themselves and appreciate art for many years to come.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Jason won the High School Teacher of the Year Award in 2011. He is the advisor for his schools chapter of the NAHS, Yearbook, and the Art Club.
