Students learn more about the Dewey Decimal system by creating their own Dewey call numbers and ordering Dewey Decimal numbers. Students will also review the difference between fiction and nonfiction. Students will enjoy this activity that can easily be used as a center.

Have your students "shop" around in the snack aisle, bakery, and more! Then students can make their shopping list by writing estimates of each priced item and adding those estimates to get the designated total in that section of the grocery store. Includes a blank sheet for teachers to use and write their own desired totals!

Students can practice using call numbers to locate books in your library. After this activity students will have a better understanding of how your library is set up! Students will also review how a call number is created and the different kinds of books including biographies, reference, fiction and nonfiction. Students will be highly engaged as they create their own bingo board in Microsoft Word and then play using technology words and clues! See a few examples of multiplication arrays and then create your own "cookie" arrays using the "cookie sheet" provided!
