This interactive Google Slide allows your students to fill out their fingerboard chart in each Major/minor key (up to 3 #'s, up to 3 b's). This bundle includes interactive Google Slides for Violin (Treble Clef), Viola (Alto Clef), Cello (Bass Clef) and Bass (Bass Clef). This visual allows students to better visualize their finger patterns in each key, along with connecting the dots between scales, key signatures and the fingerboard.

Each year I do a beginner kick-off camp where I teach my brand new students as many of the basics as possible including: parts of the instrument, how to take care of the instrument, setting up posture, open strings, the ANT song, left hand fingers and hot cross buns. The students work through these packets during the camp. This would also be a great resource for getting through the basics in the first week of school.

Students fill out this form using the practice techniques. I use this for sub days because it helps guide the students into intentional practice instead of purely running the pieces while you are gone.

This project allows students to explore JWPepper and learn about different composers along with listening to some new music. I am doing this as a final project now that we are finished with our concert, and I will pick a couple pieces for us to play next year from the pieces the students research.

This is a list of music for String Orchestra from all over the world. It is sorted Alphabetically by grade level and contains links to JWPepper for each piece. The Titles/Countries of origin are Color Coded to make it easy to see where each piece is from. I will be using this list to create a Music From Around the World Concert cycle containing as much diversity as possible.

This program can be folded in half when printed. All you have to do is fill in the blanks. I like to add a themed border (snowflakes for winter, etc.) around my programs as well to make them a little more fun and festive!

These posters display the open strings on each orchestral instrument to give students an easy reference to where their open strings are located on the staff. This includes posters for Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass.

I went through how to use JWPepper with my 6th graders- starting with going to "String Orchestra," and showing them the different categories. We explored together as a class and listened to songs within the "Easy" and "Medium Easy" range (You can change this based on the group). The students found songs they liked and added them to the document. I will use these to gauge for what songs to buy next year, so they can enjoy the music they are playing!
