This versatile document supports teachers in implementing Socratic seminar and classroom discussion. Students write questions about the topic to bring up in discussion, then record their answers to other questions and ways they built the conversation through piggybacking. Students receive three passes at the start of each quarter and may choose to use them for homework, bathroom, or water. This resource includes classroom implementation suggestions, student instructions, and passes. It works very well for my ninth graders but would be useful to anyone teaching students independence and responsibility.
