This versatile document supports teachers in implementing Socratic seminar and classroom discussion. Students write questions about the topic to bring up in discussion, then record their answers to other questions and ways they built the conversation through piggybacking. The bottom of the page provides helpful sentence starters to support ELL and struggling students.

This zombie-centered mini-lesson is intended for use as a review; I would not use this to introduce the concept of subjects and predicates for the first time, as the explanations are not in depth. I use this as a review for my ACT students, most of whom are already on grade level and simply need a review of basic topics before we move on to more complex ideas. Simplify your management while teaching students to make responsible choices! Students receive three passes at the start of each quarter and may choose to use them for homework, bathroom, or water. This resource includes classroom implementation suggestions, student instructions, and passes. It works very well for my ninth graders but would be useful to anyone teaching students independence and responsibility.
