Hi, I'm Stephanie! I have been very fortunate to have had some wonderful teaching experiences over the course of my career. After completing my Bachelor of Education, I did some supply teaching in a two-room school in Manitoba where I was tasked with teaching to multiple grade levels at one time. From there, I travelled to Northern Alberta where I taught various grades, including special education, for several years. More recently, I have returned to my hometown in Eastern Ontario and have continued to expand my skills and improve my teaching practices with each new grade level and challenge I receive.

Experience

Hi, I'm Stephanie! I have been very fortunate to have had some wonderful teaching experiences over the course of my career. After completing my Bachelor of Education, I did some supply teaching in a two-room school in Manitoba where I was tasked with teaching to multiple grade levels at one time. From there, I travelled to Northern Alberta where I taught various grades, including special education, for several years. More recently, I have returned to my hometown in Eastern Ontario and have continued to expand my skills and improve my teaching practices with each new grade level and challenge I receive.

Teaching style

I am passionate about making connections with my students and building them up to reach their fullest potential. I firmly believe that is the foundation upon which all successful teaching is built. I strive to create engaging and hands on activities that encourage my students to think outside the box and gain new perspectives. I like to have fun, allow my students to be the architects of their learning and ensure to celebrate the little wins as much as the big ones.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Human Geography with a minor in Professional Writing from Brock University, in addition to my Bachelor of Education degree from Lakehead University. I am qualified to teach primary, junior and intermediate (grades K-10) and have specializations in Special Education and teaching English Language Learners.

Additional biographical information

I appreciate you taking the time to learn more behind the educator here at Study Spark Studio. Outside of the classroom I wear many hats. I am a proud wife, a mother to two amazing little people and an avid baker/crafter. In my free time I can be found playing with my sweet pup, exploring the beautiful region where we live and spending as much quality time with my family as possible.
