Nouns Powerpoint

This is a PowerPoint presentation that I use in order to introduce and teach nouns to my students. It starts with basic information about nouns and then it goes into proper nouns and common nouns. It ends with slides about how to make nouns plural. It has interactive parts where students have opportunities to think and discuss questions. I use it over the course of a week. Reviewing already discussed slides and adding additional ones throughout the week.

This is a PowerPoint that goes through the capitalization rules. I usually will give the students a copy of the rules listed the same way to keep in the binders so they always have the rules to refer back to. It gives examples and then has a mini-review session at the end of the slides.

Writing Homework

This includes 5 different prompts. My students complete the back first by writing topic sentences, supporting details, and concluding sentence. They must then copy the sentences into a complete paragraph on the front. This has helped my students understand paragraph organization and rough/final drafts. I have left it in Word Doc format so you can quickly change the prompt. I often send this for homework so the parents can see all that we do in class.

This is a set I created in order to help my students know what to do with all of the blank space on the writing state test. Each time I give them this packet, I delete a part of the steps and leave a blank instead. This way by the time the test comes, they are drawing and filling in their own brainstorming and pre-writing.

Use this Powerpoint presentation to introduce the most common comma rules to your class. It can also be used to review the comma rules before a test. Also, you can upload the slides to a Google Classroom for the students to review if they missed pieces of information. The slides include a slide and example for each rule as well as a practice slide.

This is a powerpoint that I made to use after my students finish their narrative rough drafts.I have them go step by step through the powerpoint with me and their papers in front of them. They fix things and revise as we progress through the slides. This does not cover much editing but instead focuses on bringing their papers to life with details.
