I am a dedicated educator with five years of teaching experience, primarily in 3rd grade. Throughout my career, I have taught core subjects including Math, Science, Reading, and Phonics, with a strong focus on Literacy instruction for most of those years. I am passionate about helping young learners build a strong academic foundation and fostering a love for reading. In addition to my classroom duties, I have been actively involved in extracurricular activities, assisting with the after-school Drama Club and sponsoring a girls club that provided mentorship and a safe space for personal growth.

After a long week of learning, this is a great way to get students engaged in reading. It also gives them something to look forward to at the end of the week. I buy fingerlights from Amazon and allow students to sit wherever they want in the classroom and read for 20 minutes.

Pixar Films Sequence of Events Movie Day
This lesson was an absolute hit! I transformed my classroom into a movie theater experience, complete with showtimes posted on the door and tickets handed out as students entered. We watched Disney Pixar’s: Mike’s New Car, and—because no movie is complete without snacks—everyone enjoyed some popcorn during the film. Afterward, students worked in groups to discuss the short film and completed a sequence of events worksheet, reinforcing their comprehension skills in a fun and engaging way.
