Students will use their creative thinking to design An Olympic Event. They will create a new event for the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics. Sample questions that are provided include: What would participants do? What equipment would they need? How would a winner be chosen? Students will also be able to illustrate their new sport.

Have your students research the Winter Olympics using this interactive project. Students will write updates about the Olympics, share facts about athletes, document weather conditions in Milan and Cortina and keep up to date with medal counts. You can choose to have students do this as homework, group work, or assign each student a day to document and update the class. What a great way to get students participating in project based learning.

They will need to budget and monitor their spending and purchases. You can use any sale ad for this activity. It would be a great math activity for repeated use with a variety of sale ads. You could use digital sale ads creating a WebQuest on the computer or paper copies from the newspaper.
