About the store
About Teacher Built Learning Welcome to Teacher Built Learning – resources made by real teachers, for real classrooms. We’re Mike and Sadie, a primary teacher and a qualified SENCo – bringing together years of classroom experience across the UK, international schools, and specialist settings. Between us, we’ve taught everything from Year 3 to Year 6, led subjects like Maths and STEM, supported SEND learners, and worked with a wide range of abilities and needs. Our resources are built with one simple aim: to make teaching easier and learning more engaging. You’ll find: 📚 Ready-to-teach lessons that actually work in busy classrooms ✏️ Differentiated activities (WTS → Greater Depth) that support all learners 🧠 SEND-friendly approaches with scaffolds, visuals, and accessible tasks 🎥 Creative, engaging ideas using tools like Seesaw, iMovie, and hands-on learning 📊 Assessment-informed planning to help move children forward We know what it’s like to juggle planning, marking, behaviour, and everything in between – so everything we create is designed to be practical, adaptable, and time-saving, without losing quality. Sadie’s SENCo expertise ensures our resources genuinely support inclusion, while Mike’s experience leading Maths and upper KS2 teaching means everything is rooted in strong curriculum knowledge and classroom reality. If it’s on our page, it’s been used, tested, and refined with real pupils. Built by teachers. Tried in classrooms. Ready for yours.

Teaching style

At Teacher Built Learning, our teaching style is rooted in one key belief: every child can succeed with the right support and challenge. Our lessons are designed using a mastery approach, with clear progression from working towards → expected → greater depth, so every pupil is both supported and stretched. We prioritise: 🧠 Deep thinking over surface learning ✏️ Clear modelling and scaffolded steps 🎯 Purposeful independent outcomes 📊 Assessment-informed teaching We also place a huge emphasis on engagement. From immersive writing hooks (like Marshmallows and suspense clips) to hands-on maths and real-life contexts, we aim to create lessons pupils genuinely enjoy. With SENCo expertise built into our resources, you’ll also find: Visual supports Reduced writing options Chunked tasks Alternative ways to record (perfect for tools like Seesaw) In short: high expectations, strong support, and lessons that actually work in real classrooms.

Additional biographical information

We’re both passionate about making teaching manageable, effective, and enjoyable. Our resources are created during real teaching life – not in theory – meaning everything is: ✔️ Tried and tested ✔️ Refined with real pupils ✔️ Designed to save you time Outside the classroom, we’re big believers in balance (and realism!) – whether that’s early morning gym sessions, a trip to the driving range, or just finding ways to make teaching life that little bit easier. Teacher Built Learning started from a simple idea: share what works, so other teachers don’t have to reinvent the wheel. If it’s on our page, it’s something we’d happily use in our own classrooms tomorrow.
