About the store

I have been fortunate enough to be able to teach for the last 7 years in a variety of grades. I student taught in Illinois, Northern Chicago suburbs in kindergarten and fourth grade. Then, I moved to Des Moines, Iowa and have taught 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade. I have a very high energy style and try to make every digital and easy to access with a few clicks so that I can prep my week very easily! I also have taught adult English classes for adults who speak little to no English.

The purpose of this worksheet is for students to represent and solve different Put Together/Take Apart problems. Students can use different strategies for determining an unknown addend and make sense of the relationship between addition and subtraction. The first page supports using pictures, the second page gradually releases for the kids to draw their own pictures.

Experience

Teaching style

I have used pieces of Whole Brain Teaching, Responsive Classroom, PBIS, Jan Richardson, and many other strategies and programs to enhance my teaching. Overall, I am a very animated teacher that uses a lot of technology when I can!

My own education history

I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa in elementary education with endorsements in reading, math, and science. I received my master's degree from Grand Canyon University in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
