I have been teaching for 10 years in the suburbs of Illinois. I have taught 6-8th Grade Science, co-taught in ELA and Math, taught resource and special education classes, and am now a 6th grade ELA teacher.
This is a great way to implement STEAM into your Math curriculum. I use this activity when I am working on my Interpreting Data Unit. Students will be creating a circuit and will test a total of 10 items. they will check off if they are conductors or insulators. Then, they will represent the data through a pie graph. You can also have students create pie graphs on Numbers or Excel to add a bit of technology to it too!
