I taught third grade for five years in North Carolina. I have been a a reading and math instructional coach for two years, this has resulted in me working across the elementary school grades.
This is a paired activity with 3 word problems each.
Each question is differentiated as the student chooses which numbers they will use in the problem.
In a rally coach student A solves their problem with the help of B and then B solves his/her problem etc. down the line. Students use one paper and one pencil. To send this activity home one just needs to cut the paper in half.
This is a short review that could be used for homework or as an in-class assignment. This has two step word problems using addition and multiplication, missing variable, and distributive property. It also has one pattern problem!
Student skip count by different multiples and color in 100s charts. Then they look for patterns within each chart.
