Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) - I have been in the field of ABA for 6 years, and my experience extends from being on special education teams in elementary schools to my current position of clinical supervisor at an organization providing clinic and in-home services, as well as consulting for a local school district. Both of my children has ADHD, so I have had to learn to adapt my teaching style to suit the moment.

Values Worksheet

This worksheet helps your learner decide which values are important to them by having them rate each value, then completing a paired preference assessment with their top nine. Use with or without the Visual Values Card Deck. (A good visual goes a long way!)

Bitmoji Classroom Zoo Field Trip (8 Slides full of links!)

Welcome to class! Today, we’re taking a virtual field trip to the zoo! This Google Slides document links to live cameras at zoos and wildlife rescues across the country—and in some cases, across the world! Want to see penguins? The penguins link will take you to a real-time camera of the penguins at the San Diego Zoo! My students love our zoo field trip days. You can edit out my Bitmoji & add yours!

Visual Values Card Deck (3 x 5)

This Visual Values Card Deck is formatted to be printed on 3x5 notecards (see your printer's instructions). It can be used with the Values Worksheet or on its own to help your learners narrow down their top values.

Visual Values Card Deck (8.5 x 11)

Use this Visual Values deck to help your learners narrow down their values. I use these as visuals for the paired preference assessment on the Values Worksheet. Once you've narrowed down the top nine values on the Values worksheet, use those cards for the preference assessment to have the learner receptively identify the more important value of the two.

Complaint Form (Decrease Tattling)

A great--and entertaining--solution to tattling. Instead of coming to you to tattle on a sibling or peer, the child is directed to fill out a complaint. You can set up a receptacle (complaint box of some sort) in a heavy traffic area for them to put their completed forms. This activity is effective in many ways. It encourages the child to really think about what he or she is about to tell you, it offers opportunities for writing practice, and it just might decrease the frequency of tattling

Summer Secret Code Activity

Fun secret code activity encourages problem-solving, writing letters, and reading. Great for preventing the summer slide. Created specifically for autism classroom, but is great for all pre-k/kindergarten level learners.

ABC Behavior Reflection

This sheet is a great tool to use for older students (probably 5th grande and older) to help them try to better understand their behavior. It includes optional-use overcorrection sheets, in which the student then writes out a future plan statement as many times as the instructor deems appropriate (if at all.)

Teaching style

I am a firm believer that there's nothing a little visual can't teach! I love creating visual aids to help learners generalize skills. There's so much creativity in making learning accessible!

My own education history

M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology

Additional biographical information

When I'm not "behavioring" or creating curricula, I'm usually listening to an audiobook, hanging out with my family, crafting, or gardening. I also love to watch movies!
