She didn’t even have any lessons, but she painted anyway! She painted the life around her and what was important to her. Learn about her wonderful life as a folk artist and the ways she contributed to African American art and culture in America. I highly recommend using Art From Her Heart by Kathy

Teaching style

One of my favorite things has been creating my own resources over the years alongside my The Apprentice Art Studio apprenticeartstudio.com website. Some of what you will find on my TpT page is for subjects like history, science, art, and literature, and resource for the teacher. Almost all of my resources will have some sort of creative element or project to them because I believe that children learn best when they are actively using all of themselves to learn. Let’s face it, who doesn’t like to build something or create something that you are learning about? When you enjoy your learning, studies show that your whole brain is actively working in the learning process.
