The document attached includes 4 project choice pages, 1 for each quarter. These pages introduce the guidelines for the independent reading book, project due date and then 4-8 different mini-projects that students can choose to complete. I have also included rubrics for 11 different projects that students can use to complete a project and then teachers can use to grade the projects. These projects could also be used for the culminating activity at the end of Lit Circles. Enjoy!

Basic conflict definitions with a little bit of practice learning internal vs. external. Can then be applied to any story or novel you are reading.

Beginning of the year assignment to get to know students and to get to know a little bit about their writing technique and style. Super simple and the kids usually love doing it. I also hang the good ones up in the classroom for Open House.

At the end of each 9 weeks I have students assess how they did and set goals for the next 9 weeks.
